From the end of the world to… Esher

No doubt wearing his trademark globe jacket, George Verwer, founder and former international director of Operation Mobilisation, will speak on mission at CRE 2017 (2.30pm, Wed 18 Oct).

George founded and led Operation Mobilisation for more than 40 years before stepping down in August 2003. Today the organisation has two ships and more than 4,000 people working in some 80 nations.

‘It’s a great time in history for the Church,’ said George, ‘and I’ll be at CRE to tell visitors what is God doing through it.’

Today OM reaches across the world through their ship Logos Hope and more than 6,100 people in over 110 nations. As International Director of OM George helped to raise up leaders to pursue world mission, freeing him to travel and speak across the globe.

George and his wife are now involved in Special Projects Ministries (still part of OM) full-time. They have three adult children, five grandchildren and make their home in England.
